her obituary

Caris A. TATE

NEWPORT NEWS - Caris AnnaBelle Tate was called to Heaven by God on Feb. 5, 2011, after only six short, but beautiful, days of life.
In those six days, Caris touched more people's lives than some of us do in an entire lifetime. Her mommy and daddy want her to know how proud they are of how hard she fought for her life, and how much they anticipated growing old with her, and loving her through all of life's challenges. Even though she is gone from this earthly world, we know that we will see her again when God calls us home.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her loving parents, Chris and Maggie Tate and her brother, Sebastion; her maternal grandparents, Andy and Lesa Ankney; her paternal grandparents, Edward and Cheryl Tate; her maternal great-grandparents, Glenn and Gail Hoy; her paternal great-grandparents, Mick and Betty Shuey; her aunts and uncles, Keven and Kathy Elledge, Skyler and Jessi Smith, Sean Ankney, Eddie and Kris Tate, Karen Tate, Sean Tate; her cousins, Haylee Elledge, Elias Villarreal, Kaelin Villarreal and Ty Villarreal, Nigel Tate, Ainsley Tate and Carlie Tate; and a whole host of other family, friends and the hundreds of people all over the world who spent her cherished six days of life praying for her.
Chris and Maggie Tate would like thank the NICU staff at Mary Immaculate Hospital, CHKD in Norfolk and UVA Medical Center NICU who took care of Caris. They would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to everyone around the world that prayed for Caris' recovery and have since prayed for the healing of a grieving family due to this tragic loss.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at The Circuit, located at #17 Hidenwood Shopping Center in Newport News. A funeral service to celebrate Caris' life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Freedom Life Church, located at 35 Tide Mill Lane in Hampton. A private graveside service will be held Friday morning.
